Me and the family had a great time at the Write To Publish conference today. I got to meet a bunch of great writers, sell some books, hangout with my friend, and rub elbows with some great graphic novelists and authors (one an Eisner Award winner.) Thanks Ooligan Press for giving me the opportunity to moderate the graphic novel panel, and thanks to Mark Russell, Shannon Wheeler, Leia Weathington, and Susan Kirtley for being such gracious panelists. It was tons of fun.
And a special thanks to my wonderful wife, who stands by me always. You are my rock and my best friend – thanks for being their with me.
For those that haven't notice me post about this on Facebook or Twitter, Ooligan Publishing (part of the graduate program I now attend at Portland State University) will be hosting a creatives conference this weekend. Yours truly will be moderating a panel on graphic novels, featuring such talents as Mark Russell, Shannon Wheeler, Leia Weathington, and Susan Kirtley. I'm super excited for the opportunity, so stop by my table as well to meet and maybe pick up a signed copy of Crow In the Hollow or YOU CAN RELY ON PLATYPI. Visit the Ooligan site for more details, and maybe attend (tickets are available through the Ooligan site as well.)
Hey all! As a new member of the Black Creative Collective Brownhall, I'll be showcasing my work along other talented and renowned artists at the Black: Genus, Genesis, Genius Exhibition this January 24th - March 8th. The exhibit will be held at Multnomah County Central Library's Collins Gallery. The opening reception will be held February 7th at 2 p.m. If you are in the Portland area, stop by and enjoy the beautiful, thoughtful, and riveting work of the Pacific Northwest's premier African-American creatives group.
A new illustration I did for my friend Andrew Bailey. I went a little overboard, but damn was it fun. I should draw Dwarven women more often. #believeinwonder
