Hey all! Thanks for stopping by Barnes and Noble to meet all of the awesome authors and illustrators from Oregon Reads Aloud. We had a great time meeting parents and kids, and talking about our creative process. Special thanks to Valerie Pearce for just being awesome, but especially for writing such a wonderful story for me to illustrate. #believeinwonder
Hey all! Just wanted to give our friends and followers a heads up that we'll be featured creators at the Oregon Reads Aloud event, Saturday, February 25th, at Barnes and Noble at Clackamas Towncenter. Come out and meet me, Josie, and Victor, as well a host of other awesome authors and illustrators. You can grab yourself a signed copy of Oregon Reads Aloud. We'll also have our Wonderous Flights coloring book, and will be conducting a small coloring event as well. SEE YOU THERE! #BelieveInWonder #OregonReadsAloud
Hey all! We had a busy week at PCC Mini Comic-Con and at Fanaticon! We were able to share our proof copy of The Wonderous Science, too! Sorry we didn't have copies to sell, but we should have some for our upcoming events. The book release party will be announced soon, so stay tuned. It was so great getting a chance to geek out a bit with our fellow story-lovers, so thanks everybody for stopping by. #BelieveInWonder
I had a great time at the 2017 Write To Publish conference. Thanks to the grad students of the Ooligan Publishing group, my distinguished fellow panelists, and the enthusiastic authors in attendance. I got to hang out with some really awesome people – including David Walker, author of Shaft, Nighthawk, and Power Man and Iron Fist, and Cathy Camper, author of Lowriders In Space! #BelieveInWonder
What is The Wonderous Science? Imagine the ability to invent incredible wonders, imbued with the power to bend the very laws of nature. Now, imagine that power in the hands of a 12-year-old girl. Zora Sparks is a genius by all accounts. Having grown up in the foster care system, she has learned through experience to rely on herself and her own abilities, specifically her amazing skill in the Wonderous Science – a fabled knowledge that has raised kingdoms with unimaginable artifacts, and toppled societies with terrible weapons. The Laurel Society has made it their mission to guide and protect those with this amazing ability, and “contain” those that have used it for evil. Now it falls to Ms. Daisy Kidd, a member of The Wardens Division of the society, to watch after Zora and her precocious little brother, Nate. But, unknown forces are plotting in the shadows, and they have plans for the young prodigy. Can Daisy, Zora, and Nate discover what lies in the secret history of The Laurel Society before it’s to late?
