First off, it looks like I'll be teaching publishing design at Roosevelt High School this summer. They have a wonderful, student run publisher, and I'll be interning as a graphic designer with them. I'm super excited to share my love of art with this exceptional group. Look at their classroom. Awesome huh? I spent a little time at Powell's Books this week, just wandering the endless shelves of books. I hate that bookstores are considered a dying institution to some. To me they are always alive with ideas and beauty. Neil Gaiman was quoted recently talking about the current state of book culture – it's a great read. Check it out! And finally I'm getting some much needed work done on book 3 of You Can Rely On Platypi. With everything going on in my life of late, I had put it aside for a bit. I'm feeling really good about getting back to work on it, and have big plans for the this book and the conclusion in book 4 or 5.
Well, that's my update. I hope to have more big things happening in coming weeks. :)
