Cyborg #1 is BLOWING UP!

I had the pleasure of celebrating with my friend David Walker the recent release of Cyborg #1 from DC Comics. David and I met a few months ago at an art exhibit we were both featured in, and learned that we are both members of the Black Creative Collective here in Portland. I was already aware of his work and great talent from his comic book  Shaft, published through Dynamite Comics, but little did I know that he was a really cool guy as well. As an avid reader of comics and graphic novels, it does my heart good to know that he is at the reigns of such a interesting and visible character. I really hope that this leads to more African American characters moving from the role of sidekick and background.
