Grant update: I received one of three Honorable Mentions for the The Speculative Literature Foundation as the winner of the 2016 Working Class Writers Grant! One of the jurors said this about #TheWonderousScience:
"This is gorgeous and very well told. I liked the descriptions, the characterization, and the speed with which the plot began to unfold. There's a delightful sense of fun. A nice job of showing and not just telling. I would absolutely buy this book."

Hey all! Looks like I'll be at Everygreen Middle School's Comic Con again this year! What a great group of students – I love getting a chance to geek out with them. We've been provided this amazing opportunity by our friend, fellow creative, and writing teacher, Sean Fishback. His inspiring students are working on great things in his class, and we look forward to getting a chance to talk about authorship, diversity in publishing, and telling personal and compelling stories. #BelieveInWonder
We had the pleasure to speak on a panel with other POC creators recently an event at High & Low Gallery titled Whitenoise Project 3: Between the Panels. What a great discussion about diversity of characters, representation in the world of publishing, equity in storytelling and the hard work ahead. We were happy to be a part of the conversation. Even Victor got in on it! :)#BelieveInWonder
Yeah, I know. HOW MANY SOCIAL MEDIA OUTLETS DO YOU NEED TO HAVE?! This one is worth it, though. On our Tumblr we will share illustrations, and links to other really cool artwork, promote diverse storytelling, creativity, and imagination. Check us out at http://believeinwonder-publishing.tumblr.com/
I recently had the pleasure of designing an illustration for Oregon Children's Theatre's upcoming production, "And in this corner... CASSIUS CLAY." The directing staff at Oregon Children's Theatre was awesome, very collaborative, and just a joy to work with. I feel that our discussions really made for a great final piece. Check out my process photos and the final graphic. :) Thanks David Walker for the reference. #OregonChildrensTheatre #BelieveInWonder

Hey all! Thanks for stopping by Barnes and Noble to meet all of the awesome authors and illustrators from Oregon Reads Aloud. We had a great time meeting parents and kids, and talking about our creative process. Special thanks to Valerie Pearce for just being awesome, but especially for writing such a wonderful story for me to illustrate. #believeinwonder
